I am an INTP

Posted by: admin In: Rant

As a response to Nicole’s post, I am going to confess that I am a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI) nerd. I love this stuff XD. Check out my facebook! I will love to know everyone’s personality types! It is suppose to help with social interactions and for us to know each other better. Or you can [...]

Joe’s take on Tuesday’s class

Posted by: admin In: APOC

I hope everyone still remembers Joe who visited us during class, and he sent me a long email with his thoughts:
on ethans internet:

the idea of the internet as a protocol is not too far from the truth, but the hardware infrastructure has to be built and maintained by commercial agencies until we can at some point [...]

Innovative advertising

Posted by: admin In: Uncategorized

While this is not online community related, it is still interesting to see the innovative ideas used to promote awareness. Brazilian environmental activists 50 Graus used methods such as letting ice penguins melt at a popular park, and surrounding a drinking fountain with a mini maze, to convey the messages of global warming and water [...]

A new Panasonic W8?

Posted by: admin In: Rant

So this is very sad. After a long story with Paypal, I finally was able to place my order with conics.net for my awesome Panasonic Let’s Note W8 notebook. I was thinking that in 2 weeks, maybe I will fit in with the APOC group more if I have a laptop (my last one sadly [...]

Facebook + Mafia = ???

Posted by: admin In: APOC

Interesting article I found on the New York Times about how “On Facebook, Sicilian Mafia Is a Hot Topic”.
It is kind of funny to think that right now some mafia dressed in some stereotypical black suit smoking a cigar is sitting in front of his computer, surfing Facebook. Maybe only a decade ago, the only [...]

Twitter layouts

Posted by: admin In: tips

One of my hobbies is to twink layouts, and since I gave in and started my Twitter account, it is only natural for me to make a totally “original” layout. I used the template available from the Closet Entrepreneur, and created the really pink and girly layout for my twitter with… can you guess [...]

Tell me something new (Week 1)

Posted by: admin In: APOC

Since today is the inauguration, I guess it is appropriate to direct your attention to something provocative (and at least for me, very funny). The comparison of the White House website today vs. when Bush took office 8 years ago: Via Gizmodo. Great example to show how far the Internet has advanced. The plain html [...]

The APOC Program

Posted by: admin In: APOC

Actually, I hate introductory posts, because I never know what to write. Give me a topic, and I can research, organize, and put it all together. But when it comes to introductions, I can talk about a million things, and what should I choose so you are not going to feel bored?
I guess the same [...]

About

Welcome to my blog! I am an APOC student at the University of Southern California, and the truth is that this blog is part of my course requirement. However, I will do my best to make it as useful and informative as possible, and be more active on this blog than any of my other blogs...

I love tweaking with Wordpress layouts and web design in general, so maybe I will post some tips and links to resources and sites I like. I will try my best not to bring in too much from the anime and manga industry (and you know I am a big fan if you check out my anime list), though I am a believer that fan culture strives on the internet more than any other channel, and the study of fan culture is one of the topics that really fascinates me.

I also playes video games (like wow), loves to travel and I consider myself an ill-informed food snob. So enjoy your visit!
